I'm so sorry to hear about Crystal's problem, Bonnie. I have a spinal disease myself so she has my total sympathy, poor dog. I'm sure with lots of love and the care you must lavish on her, she will make it through the winter ok. What a cruel rule they have in your city. They used to have a rule like that here, but it was dropped a few years ago when they realised they were infringing on people's human rights. After all, no one ever limited the number of cats, or birds or any other animal you could keep so why single out dogs? Anyway, I do hope Crystal will be ok, just keep loving her with all your might.

Hi Bonnie,

Your two look very happy and reaceful lin their relaxed mode! Sheba was the worst case of abuse we've ever come across. When we first saw her she was a skeleton, probably not even a year old, with hardly any fur, and was covered in red sores all over, with deep ligature marks round her neck. She'd been starved so much she'd tried to eat her own tail, which was just a bloody mess. She'd been used as bait for training fighting dogs and was then dumped and left to die on a rubbish tip. She was only saved becasue someone saw her lying there and called the dog warden service.It took a long time to get her into shape but she is now such a loving, happy girl and simply adores people, and has learned to get on with all our own dogs, and loves to run and play with her ball, but is very wary of other dogs, understandably after her start in life. I took the following photos after she'd been with us for a month, so you can imagine what she was like before that time.

Tanks a lot, Bonnie. My wife is a groomer and I'm the trainer and together we rescue, care for and train our lovely dogs to be part of our family.
