Looking Stylish on a Budget
It can be overwhelming figuring out how to look fancy and classy when you're on a tight budget. However, it is certainly possible to do so. Just follow some rules for always looking like you're fabulous. No one has to know how much money you spent.
Mix and Match
So you always wear that one t-shirt with your favorite pair of jeans? Try wearing it with a skirt or a black pair of pants, or try wearing the jeans with a tunic. Sometimes, people feel as though they have no clothes when they really just have not tried all of the options. Get out of that clothing rut, and mix up your pieces.
Accessorize, Accessorize, Accessorize!
It's amazing what the right accessories can do for an outfit. Grab a belt and throw it around your shirt for a chic and sleek look, or wear a hat to look more sporty during some outdoor activities. You don't need to buy all new jewelry; just use the pieces that you have. Funky colors give an eclectic vibe to the jeans and t-shirt combination, and long draping necklaces add a whole lot of fashion to basic black tops. When it's cold out, put a colorful scarf around your neck. People might not even realize that you are wearing the same shirt that you did two days ago.
Clothing Swaps
Every once in awhile, get together with your friends or family members of the same gender to have a clothing swap. Everyone should bring articles of clothing that he or she no longer uses and wants to get rid of. No one has to spend every money, but everyone is going home with some new clothes. You should be sensitive to any of your friends who are much larger or much smaller than the other people in your social circle. Consider turning it into a clothing, accessory and shoe swap, so that people of all sizes are able to participate in this budget friendly fun.
Shop the Sales
No matter how hard you try to make your clothes last forever, they aren't going to. Pants rip, jeans fade and dresses go out of style. When you have to buy some new clothes, make sure that the shopping expedition is as budget friendly as possible. Wait until the store has a huge sale, and go purchase all of your favorite pieces then. Another option is to scour the Internet for coupon codes. Coupon Cabin and Retail Me Not often provide valuable discounts for many websites. You could also use Ebates, which gives you back a portion of the money you spend on a plethora of websites.
Stop staring at your closet and saying that you have nothing to wear. Doing so will only encourage you to go on a shopping spree. Instead of worrying about what you don't have, use what you do have. Make a conscious effort to create new styles, meet up with friends for clothing swaps and to keep your eyes peeled for great deals.
